ICONIC STEAKHOUSE EXPERIENCE




Our inspiration for 801 Chophouse was simple. We realized that “The Icon Steakhouses” of the 1920s had largely disappeared.
The great steakhouses were replaced by watered-down facsimiles. Dull imitators need more energy and are no longer the lively hubs of social activity. These places need more commitment to outstanding hospitality and quality cuisine.
We set ourselves the task of reimaging and Celebrating the Vibrancy of the Iconic Steakhouse. At the heart of any city’s bustling culinary scene, a fine steakhouse has stood as a beacon for both the traditional steak lover and the modern diner seeking an exceptional experience. But, in today’s corporatized atmosphere of bottom-line profits taking precedence over craft, standards set by New York 1920s Steakhouses have all but faded away. Most modern steakhouses are imposters, just the facades of what great steakhouses should be. They have lost their romance, attention to detail, dedication to hospitality, and commitment to the craft.

Our Chefs search the United States and the world over to select superior domestic and imported A5 cuts to provide our guests with the finest Wagyu dining experience. The word Wagyu translates directly to “Japanese cattle,” and there are 47 prefectures in Japan, many of which produce different brands of Wagyu boasting a variety of tasting notes due to differences in production area, bloodline, breed, grade, the method of rearing, and period of time raised. 801 Chophouse sources A5 Wagyu from a variety of brands from the most acclaimed prefectures in Japan.
Each cut of A5 is the highest quality of steak available – it’s truly a luxury steak. The grade of A5 comes from a combination of the Yield (A being the highest rating) and a maximum score of 5, representing the highest grade for meat with ideal firmness, texture, coloring, and marbling.
